Dear Members,

Outstanding! Unbelievable! Amazing! Sold out crowd! The dinner served was excellent! The western theme was a huge hit! The cast and characters were truly awesome! When is the next one?

Welcome to what we heard about our latest murder mystery dinner theatre that was held at the Grand Event Center on Saturday, October 20 th. By far, of all the years we have put together a collective effort like this, this was our best outcome. Fun, intrigue and bonding got the cast together and helped us stay together for the benefit of the scholarships that we provide. With the sold out performance and our huge turn out for the silent auction, we have exceeded our expected goals and our scholarship program will benefit greatly from our proceeds.

I would like to personally thank our hard working cast members and our director, Ben Rossow. Without all of the dedication and time spent on this project we would not have had such a huge success. Hope to see all of you at our next murder mystery dinner theatre!

Fall is in the air. Doesn’t the changing colors of the leaves put you into the next season with a warm feeling? I, for one, have a warm feeling on a different subject with Highway 65 south of Mora opening soon. Two new bridges, our Highway 65 back in full swing….what more could a person ask for?

The annual chamber year started in October. The board of directors appreciates your membership and would like to extend to you an open invitation to join our monthly meetings, our morning coffee with K.A.R.E.N., updated information on our website (moramn.com), and our annual Home Show. Just around the corner we will, again, be working with the financial institutions in Mora to distribute Chamber Cash in the form of Zero percent loans. The chamber cash may then be used at our chamber based businesses. This program has been received well in the past and we expect it to do so again this year. This program will be available in November.

I would like to give a very large thank you to Karen Amundson, our Executive Director and to Sandy Juettner, a board director for all of their ongoing help in working with the city of Mora on the City of Mora Banners and helping with the Mora business signage that will be erected on Dave Anderson’s property (Classic Car and Truck Wash) in the near future. Kudos to you both!

Last but not least I would like to extend and invitation to all of our members to participate in the advertisement of our next Kanabec Area Visitor’s Guide book that is scheduled for release in the Spring of 2008. We will be in contact with those who are currently advertising in the guide and those who would like to advertise but are not currently in the guide.
