Kanabec County Ambassadors Program

Ambassadors Fact Sheet

Who:
The program has two levels for ages, Jr. Miss ages 7-12 and Miss ages 13-18.  The program is for girls who are residents of Kanabec County.  Winning Ambassadors will represent our whole county, not just one city.  Reigning Ambassadors will include:

Miss Kanabec County Ambassador & 2 Princess Ambassadors
Jr. Miss Kanabec County Ambassador & 2 Princess Ambassadors

What: 
This is a scholarship and personal development program that is sponsored by Kanabec county area businesses and community volunteers.  The program provides Ambassadors for the community; a chance for our young ladies to learn more about themselves and our area; and an opportunity to secure college scholarships.  Some examples of events include: Mora Vasaloppet, East Central Home show, Kanabec county Hospice Hoedown, Salvation Army bell ringing, Braham Pie Day, and numerous parades and coronation in other communities.

Why???
Being an Ambassador is an honor and privilege.  You will make new friends, learn a lot more about what happens in our communities and most important… it is A LOT of FUN!!!

Personal Development:
The young ladies participating in the program will receive special training during the above sessions on the following areas: poise, posture & projection interview techniques, etiquette, wardrobe, makeup, hairstyling and community awareness.  Community service projects and fundraising activities promote good will while fostering friendships and having fun.

*Hostess Award: 
An important part of our program is gaining the support of local community businesses.  Each candidate who secures a minimum of $250 in sponsorship monies (excluding the entry fee) will be eligible to compete for the “Hostess Award.”  The girl (one from either age category Miss KCA OR Jr. Miss KCA) who, wins this award will be eligible to be a reigning member of the years Ambassador Program.  This girl will represent the county equally with the other Kanabec county Ambassadors.  We strongly encourage all girls to compete for this award.  The sponsorship money donated goes to support the program while we represent our community around the state as well as working on community service projects in the Kanabec County Area.
